11. If your airplane is falling out of the sky from 30000 feet why do you have to strap yourself in? Does the airline want to make sure that you get your money's worth of the crash experience? 12. When checking in for your flight why do they ask if you've recently handled any explosives? Are they worried you might clap your hands and blow up during mid flight? (Contributed by Oliver Smith)
13. Why do pilots need to be trained? After all isn't it easy for anyone to land a plane providing there is someone in the control tower to talk them down? This must be right because it happens in all the movies doesn't it? (Contributed by Emma Grant)
14. Do the oxygen masks on airplanes really provide any oxygen? Or are they just to muffle the screams? (Contributed by Keith Sullivan)
15. During the video demonstration on many planes they show the oxygen masks dropping people looking serenely at them and then applying them in the prescribed manner. During an explosive decompression at altitude wouldn't everything be flying around in the compartment making the situation far less serene? And if it was you wouldn't you be freaking out like everyone else? (Contributed by Randy van der Woning)
16. How come when the stewardess on the airplane is going through all the safety stuff the guy in the seat in front of you is always holding up his newspaper so you can't see? (Contributed by Don F.)
17. On most airplanes they have 5 seats per row 2 on one side and 3 on the other. Why did they design them this way? Wouldn't that make the plane lopsided? Wouldn't a 2x2 or a 3x3 design be more logical? (Contributed by Ryoga)
