When you are driving your vehicle and an animal (like a deer) runs into your car and damages it the insurance company does not consider it 'collision' and therefore pays the damages under comprehensive coverages which usually has a $50 deductible. But why is it when an animal (like the jerk in the old red pickup truck) runs into your parked car damages it but leaves the scene without giving proper ID the insurance company calls it collision which has a $250 to $500 deductible?
